Continued Thanks

USA Ice Team would like to extend a continued thanks to everyone’s support, time and donations!

The beginning of the 2007-2008 season has been as good as last years’ start. The Baker Family golf outing raised $3300.00 for the USA Ice Team. I can’t think of a better way to raise money than on Jack Baker’s golf course in Canon Falls MN. Jack is the golf pro and is also a pro on the Ice Team tournament trail. Jack qualified for the 2006 NAIFC last year with his daughter Greta. She is the youngest member to participate for the national title. Read more…

Greg and I headed out again to Delavan, WI because we were afraid that the marshy Lake Puckaway would be too shallow to fish. Historically Greg and I end up going on the worst weather days, so why should today have been any different. The forecast was for heavy thunderstorms and rain. The storms came in the evening last night and continued until we launched the boat. Not a bad sign. Read more…

I admit it; I wasn’t having the same amount of fun that Mike was having. Something in his blood drives away mosquitoes. In fact, I think it angers them. It’s probably something like your friends taking you out to the bar and talking you into doing a shot of Extra Sharp Ginger Brandy. I’ve always loved the cold more than summer and I’m never truly comfortable over 65 degrees. I actually enjoy the relief from thought that shoveling snow can bring. Let’s not get too far into the BS though, I have my limits - like last winter. It was remarkably snowless here in Wisconsin at the start of winter and I dawdled at mounting the snow blower to the front of my garden tractor. I let it slide well into the new year, until one day we got a blizzard that dumped about 24 inches of puffy white water in our area. Read more…
